Renshuu.org - Study Japanese Online

Got to Japan, went to Maruzen to look at grammar books for the new JLPT tests, and there weren't too many. Can anyone recommend any (I eventually need to get one for each level, ugh, but my personal needs are for n1/n2)? Web links (amazon.co.jp とか) would be great. I'll add them to the site's resource list as well.

Unicom have always been rated highly on any forums that talk about JLPT

personally I am only at n5 so I guess I don't know much but for n5 it has been pretty good, the bits they translate and bits they don't seem crazy though. Like they don't translate the initial list of vocab at all, but in an exercise to match up opposite adjectives, they translate them all underneath each word, so you learn nothing because you can just match big/small hot/cold in English O_o

I personally use ASK's Nihongo so-matome series. At least for N3, they are pretty good. Although like most N3 books they are complete guess at what is actually on the test. I found them to be useful for overall study because they don't give you a definition of the grammar item, they just give you examples and translations. Personally, I feel this gives you a better feeling of the grammar item, but I know others that feel a bit lost using this method.
