To all you JLPT-takers out there, listen up.

You're probably cramming this week. I know I'm guilty somewhat.

Stick with it if you need to, but you know what? Take it easy on Saturday. Relax. Drink your favorite tea. Maybe even beer, but in moderation! Watch a movie. Get outside if the weather's nice. Ride a bike. Play some golf. Whatever!

Why relax? Because you've got this, dammit, you've got this. I know these tests can be daunting. Hell, I failed the N1 pretty stupendously last year, but I'm taking it again because I don't give up. And neither should you!

So, all you JLPT-destroyers, let's kick some ass this weekend. Do it for yourself and for no one else.

Good advice! For the first time ever I'm actually not cramming insanely before the test. Mainly because I don't have a lot of faith in passing N1 but that's fine. I just remember that I got this far in four years studying by myself when my original goal was to pass the old level 3 and stop and then I feel pretty good.

Oh and it's a buddy's birthday party on Saturday night so beer will be flowing ;)

Good luck to you as well!

You actually should rest the day before, but because you've 'got it' (or at least, not only because of that) - it actually will help you focus more the day of the test. If you study the day before, you're not going to really change your level of knowledge/comprehension more than a minute amount, and the risk of mixing up what you already know with a bunch of crammed in info (short term memory) is much higher.

Anyways, good luck to everyone!

Yeah, I knew about the scientific reasons not to study much right before the test, but I'm trying to psych people up! Let's do this!

I'll be taking the test as well. 2kyuu in San Francisco.

The funny thing is that even though I'm taking 2kyuu only, I'm currently translating some medical documents from Japanese to English and English to Japanese that are way beyond 1kyuu level. And my deadline is around noon, Japan time, not too long after the JLPT exam is over! It's certainly making for interesting pre-exam prep. Hey, if I can translate this then the 2kyuu should be no problem, right? ^.-

I'll be taking the N4 and I am not prepared at all. Its hard shoving in college final projects along with ALT/JET program applications and studying Japanese on the side. I'm 50/50 with passing this test. :|

I'm more like... 40% chances to pass through but it's ok, I didn't have any time to study this year, again. So I made up my mind and the goal this year is to improve the low score I got last year in N3 (yep, this is the second time I'm taking it xD).
:) Good luck anyone!

I'm pretty sure the N1 destroyed me (again...). Oh well! See my signature for how I feel about these situations.

Nice to know I'm not the only one.....

Didn't seem as bad as last year, but I could have used another week to study (at minimum).

Maybe sitting in the back left of the room instead of the back right (where I usually end up) will help my scores. I think everyone in the room had failed at least once before. ::shrugs:: oh well :P
