there is also another similar, but slightly differently-nuanced usage: うか‾まいか, where the two options are being decided on (ex のようなだ。こうかくまいか。It's raining like a typhoon - should I go to the museum as planned or not? also しようかするまいかむくらいなら、やめたがいい。If you're having a hard time deciding to marry him or not, you'd better forget about it.)

This is basically the same as -てもーなくても。  cf. っても、らなくても ろうがるまいが (Sorry, if I use the squiggly line, it and everything after it disappears from my post.)

Acording to my book (Nihongo sou matome N1 bunpou), when the verb B is する, we can use any of しまい/すまい/するまい, not just しまい
