As far as I know, they all mean "last year". Are they used differently depending on the context of a sentence?

I've never heard , so I can't comment on that one.

seems more formal, so I see it more in writing, and polite/formal discussions. is like your basic "save to use anytime" version.

I think is used more in a comparative context. For example, this year is okay, but the previous year () was on fire! 🔥
