How would I go about using the words stated above? What is the difference in usage? Feel free to provide me with as many real-life examples as possible.
Thank you and happy new year :D
From my limited understanding (which may be incorrect) is:
返 事 - is a generic reply or response (kanji gives us *reply* *thingy*)
返 信 - is a more formatted response, so for things like reply to e-mails or letter (kanji gives us a *faithful* *reply*)
回 答 - is for a answer to something where there isn't a correct answer, like a survey (kanji gives us *going around about* an *answer*)
第 一 の問 題 には本 当 に回 答 できなかった
is what I would use after taking a test.
ごめんなさい、返 事 忘 れちゃった
is what I would use in everyday conversation.
From my limited understanding (which may be incorrect), that sounds about right
For a test question where there is only one "solution" like a math question e.g. 2+5= ?, I think that 解 答 is used. (kanji gives us *unraveled* *answer*)
That pretty much answers all my questions :)
Thank you,
you've been very helpful.
