While reading, I've come across 邪魔者 (じゃまもの) and saw in the dictionary that is can also be written as 邪魔物.
The only time I've seen 邪魔者 it is referring to people, but my exposure to the term is very limited, so my question is:
In practice, are 邪魔者 and 邪魔物 interchangeable or is 邪魔者 only used for people and is 邪魔物 only used for objects ?
I am told they are not interchangeable.
The kanji
者 refers to "-person/perpetrator", combined with prefix terms, it becomes some-kind-of-person e.g. disruptive-person, bothersome-person.
The kanji
物 refers to "-thing/object", combined with prefix terms, it becomes some-kind-of-thing e.g. bothersome-thing.
