I'm trying to review a couple lessons but the lesson center only gives me a test. Is there a way to go back to when it's explained step by step?
I'm assuming you mean the step by step explanation for grammars.
If you want to review the grammar for terms you studied:
Click on you grammar schedule -> click on studied (Above the Study! button) -> Click on the grammar you want to look at
That will bring up the grammar page which has Examples, Construction and more.
If you remember the name of the grammar you can just search for it on the grammar tab in the dictionary.
The Renshuu beginner lessons that walk you through the grammar points are under Resources>Japanese Basics in the menu.
I think they may be referring to the flashcards when materials like words are introduced for the first time. Currently, those are only available when first viewing then, but you can tap on the name of the lesson to view the contents, and there's a ton of data in there!
I had this issue too. I love the hiragana/katakana/kanji flash cards on the salmon island game area. It'd be great to have some of that with words. It can be frustrating to only "review" words in the form of a quiz on words you need practice on.
We do have writing and listening available in our schedules/quizzes, but they are part of the renshuu pro package. renshuu has a *ton* of stuff that is free, but we rely on renshuu pro supporters in order to keep everything running!

It really helps to write mnemonics. But tbh I felt like I was never going to get it. Just keep going, just the repetition will get you there. Make it relax and fun. When you where young you did not freak out over not knowing something straight away, you just babbled and tried again and again and suddenly it just stuck.
Now when I look at a new list of words or just throw 15 new ones in my schedule I know how overwhelmed I felt at the beginning and now I know all those by heart and they just pop-up in my head when I see something related to them. That will happen for all the other words too. It really comes down to just repeating like the quizzes do and watching your fav show in Japanese to make it stick more natural. (ペッパピッグ is a very good one to start with.)
Hope this helps. Your brain will amaze you. Mine did. It just takes some time for it to adjust to learning something so foreign.
