Can we have support for Apple Pencil on this app for iPad? I would like to write my answers with the pencil on my iPad. The Apple Pencil doesn’t work on renshuu app on iPad.
I know for a fact that the Apple Pencil does work for many users, so there may be an issue or a setting that needs to be changed. I'm sure we can get it worked out :)
I am not primarily a iOS user, so hopefully someone else can chime in with any additional specifics.
First off, are you using a 1st or 2nd generation Apple Pencil? Can you check your Pencil settings, and see if anything might be changed?
Also, does the pencil work for tapping buttons (and it's just the drawing that doesn't work), or is there no response at all within the app?
It's really bizarre - Apple's hardware is pretty standardized, and while I know that a lot of users use their Apple Pencils (1st and 2nd gen) with renshuu, the overwhelming majority of them have no issues, so it's really tricky tracking down the issue.
When you say you cannot write with it, are you speaking about the little drawing pad (for example, in the vocab dictionary), the drawing box for characters (when you start off quizzes, in the Quick Draw game, etc.), or both?
So, I am able to use Apple Pencil in the dictionary or in quick draw. But I can’t use the scribble feature that Apple provides. For example I have to type this post with the keyboard on the iPad . Instead I want to be able to write it with my Pencil which would get automatically converted to text. If the scribble feature is supported I’ll be able to write my Vocab answers instead of typing.
How interesting - that doesn't seem like something I have control over, but I can certainly look into it.
If possible, could I have you try the following: go to renshuu.org (the website) in the Safari browser, log in, and see if you can use it in there. That's "just" the renshuu site, so if the app is causing some kind of issue that prevents the scribble stuff, we'd be able to check it this way.
The scribble feature works well on the website in the Safari Browser! But doesn't work in the app. Thank you for looking into it! I am hoping that the app is soon able to support this feature.
Thank you - I appreciate the feedback. I've unfortunately been unable to find any info on why this does not work, but I will try to look into it more when I have time.
Update: I found a possible fix, but in other to test it, I'll have a beta version of the iOS app sometime this month. I'll update info for it when available.
