Recently, I started learning kanji. Then I found out that there are radicals that have their own meaning. Should I start from learning radicals? And will it make easier to learn kanji?
Breaking down kanji into "parts" is super useful. I would definitely recommend that. When I break kanji into parts, the parts may correspond to other kanji, radicals, or other often occurring recognizable groups. Sometime those parts carry meaning or pronunciations. You get used to which ones do and do not after a while.
As for learning the official radicals, I personally don't believe it is that useful (others disagree). My reasoning is, I often feel like the official radical for a kanji is not the part that best represents the meaning or the pronunciation for the kanji, and modern dictionaries provide means of looking up kanji that don't require knowledge of the official radical.
If you have a hard time remebering kanji, then I recommend to learn some of the radicals, it can be quite helpful. Most kanjis make sence, but when it comes to difficult kanjis, I sometimes can't understand their logic, haha
