Hi. I tried to type the word びょうき in Shiratori, but I only know how to produce the full size yo with my qwerty keyboard. Does anyone know how to make that little yo?
Thanks if you can answer.
Type it as: byouki.
You can check Resources->Kana Charts (or click here) to see how to input each combination (the digraphs are at the bottom of the page).
In addition to writing "byouki" (the standard way, as mentioned above), there is another method.
You can type small characters by just typing an "x" in front of them e.g. "bixyouki"
The standard way is faster, but the "x" method can be handy for making corrections, or dealing with non-standard situations.

Thanks! I tried it and it worked! This information is gold!
Hi, shiratori しらとり means "swan", literally white bird 白 shira (white) 鳥 tori (bird).
Shiritori しりとり is the game, 尻 shiri (butt or last place) 取り tori (taking)... so the meaning is "taking from last place", I think. Anyway, sometimes from a mispell you get to know something too, so don't feel bad.
アルゼン, thanks for your kind explanation.
Anonymous123, today I discovered you can also type an "L" before the yo and get the same result as typing an "x" before the yo.
Yeah, as mentioned above, your options are to write small kana out as bixyo, bilyo, or byo. And depending on which system you use, the IME may help you out.
Alternatively, for future reference, if you're like me and use the 3x4 button keyboard, there would be a button which may have 小 on it (and/or with diacritics). You simply type out the kana you intend to shrink, which acts a bit like a shift key.
