Hi. I've started to wonder about levels. Firstly, how many levels are there? When I'm rewarded with going up a level is that because I was diligent and spent a lot of time on renshuu or is it because I'm getting the quiz answers right? Also, is there a connection with your level number and those five ranked JLPT exams?
Thanks to anyone who can answer.
It's associated with Adventure mode . If you click on the ? on the window above the dashboard it explains it:
"What is adventure mode?
Adventure mode is where your own Kao-chan character grows and advances as you learn Japanese at renshuu! Follow a progress tree and customize your Kao!
You can grow your Kao-chan the fastest by consistent studying each day. Collect additional XP through participating in the games and other areas of the site. Click your Kao-chan to see your evolution tree!
Daily challenges give you a quick 10% XP bump for each one that you finish!
Daily challenges can be customized in Settings > Motivators (tap the menu, then the settings icon.), and Adventure mode can be disabled if you're not interested."
So, you get points for being dilligent and doing things on Renshuu and for getting questions right.
Levels are unlimited but you restart at level 0 with a new character after you pass level 100.
There is no connection to level number and JLPT exams.
Thanks for your generous explanation. Just btw, do you happen to know what the highest level achieved is?
Not sure what the highest is, but the highest I've ever seen are in the 1400s. Of course, as time goes on that number will probably increase.
In short, the levels are for consistent and continued learning, which is what I'm trying to encourage on renshuu. Everyone has different goals and actual levels, and since renshuu is a very open platform, people can study whatever they want. Someone might be a master of 4,000 kanji but they don't really study vocab, while someone else is solely vocab, not a lick of kanji. The levels are a way to reward the efforts of everyone, regardless of the path they take :)
That was interesting to read. I think I also have a different goal from most, so this place is perfect for me.
