It's quite a brilliant app and I'm happy I chose this one!
At first I thought Kao-chan was really cute haha. Then I saw how the interface and everything works which I ended liking a lot, it's very nice to be able to set your own study/flash cards and customize to your own pace too.
Price and functionality.
Renshuu covers vocab, kanji, grammar, sentences, listening, and more, for a price that is less than apps that only partially cover one of those areas.
My dad got it. Also, I wanted to get better at Japanese since I'm half Japanese.
I got a couple different apps for learning Japanese since i'm part japanese and im planning on taking a trip there to visit my grandm. The reason I got this one was mostly because it was cute looking. Honestly, it really captivated my interest, and it's a great learning tool for multiple different kinds of learners. It really is adorable, and the humor in the mnuembos make it fun. I'm really glad I started using it.
I tried a lot of different apps. Maybe other than Kanji, this app has it all. Especially when it comes to grammar explanations and sentences...which imo is the majority of what I want to study to actually speak Japanese
It conbines wanikani and bunpro into one. Thus saving me a bit of cash.
I pay for Renshuu Pro monthly. For its price, it has a surprisingly extensive database that covers all aspects of language learning and practice. (Even the speaking part can be practiced if you join any of the scheduled community events.) I knew I was getting somewhere when I watched an anime with Japanese closed captions on and I recognized some of the sentence patterns from my daily modules.
One day when I was bored, I started searching in google play to see something new. And I ended up clicking on this. Then I thought why wouldn’t I? Because I’ve also been interested in learning Japanese and Duolingo wasn’t helping me that much. But now, I can confidently speak some Japanese thanks to the app and it’s community! I’m very grateful that I found this ^^
I've been studying Japanese for a while but I didn't discover Renshuu until recently when I read a comment recommending it on the LearnJapanese sub on Reddit. (Like the OP in that thread, I was trying to make and save a lesson of my own list of kanji. And that was all I used Renshuu for, for about a week. Now I find myself a slave to schedules because I want the trees in my garden to grow.)
