What is the different between these two phrases? Am I correct to say
心 の
中 is more like "heart" while
心 の
内 is more like "it's deep within my heart and my true feelings" ?
心 の内 doesn’t seem like a very common phrase, but weblio’s thesaurus does offer three interpretations with several alternate expressions for each.
Then I'm taking that の中 and の内 tend towards 思 い and 考 えrespectively?
I don't think such a tendency exists...
心 の中 /内 literally mean "in the heart" and can both refer to feelings, thoughts etc.
In general, 中 is used to neutrally describe the 'inside', while 内 implicitly contrasts it with some 'outside'.
As a result, 内 tends to come off as more poetic in certain contexts and so, as ポールおじちゃん mentioned, is less used.
