If you're looking for digitized manga, the Shonen Jump app has a few free chapters for their mangas, but you can only read the oldest and newest chapters of a series for free. I think the monthly subscription fee is 3 USD, but it could be a lot pricier in other currencies. I think you can also buy digital copies of manga and download them through the app as well.

Also, if you have access to Google Play, you can download a Google app called "Play Books," which has a decent variety of manga you can purchase with virtually any type of card. If you want physical copies of manga, you may be better off looking for them on popular shopping websites like Amazon. Hope this helps

(As a quick edit, I just re-read the title and realized you asked for free manga, so I'd reiterate checking out Shonen Jump for some free chapters. I am very wary of manga piracy websites because many of them host viruses. If you're very lucky, you may be able to find archive blogs on safe websites which reupload old, less-popular manga pages.)

Pixiv has a lot of free content, and it’s straight from manga artists, so you can support them by liking their stuff :)

You can buy ebooks of manga on Amazon if you're in the US. I haven't had any trouble with that. That's if you're wanting to read it in English. Or you could try going to the Japanese Amazon website. I've done that a few times for some items. But yes, I agree you should try Pixiv for free content.
