Yes there is! If you go to a forum page you can click on "subscribe to topic" and you will get notifications on the forum.

Oh! I didn't realize that did that. Now comes the stress of deciding which topics to subscribe to.....

Oh I see, it gives you a red dot. I suppose there isn't a way to make your phone have a notification, but that makes sense now that I think about it-oh well

You can get phone notifications, you just have to change the app permissions in your phone's settings. At least that's how I did it with my phone.(Android)

Yeah. I wonder if there is a way to have it give you a phone notification but not the red dot notification... probably not
