what are some words that you get frustrated when people mispronounce or a word that you only recently found out that you where mispronouncing?
For me, it really bothers me when people pronounce 'tortilla' the way it's spelled. JUST SAY TORTEE'A
to be fair tho, I only just found out that I was pronouncing Ghibli wrong when my friend couldn't understand what I was saying. I would always say "Gibly". who woulda known that it was pronounced "Jibli"
Yes, Tortilla is DEFINITELY one of them. One that kind of is weird for me to process is アニメ (anime) because for so long, I said the A as in Ant, instead of A like Ah. But otherwise I can't think of any others :P
There are a lot of words people mispronounce in English, but one that is really strange: I know some people who pronounce nursery "nurshery" instead of with an s sound
The É in Pokémon eludes most people. I've heard a mix of PoKAYmon and PoKEEmon in casual conversations. I think someone's native language and their familiarity with accented letters influences their pronunciation. (Same with manga. I've heard MAINga and MOHNga and everything in-between...)

To me, the A (like Ant) in anime seems to originate from the English pronunciation of "animation." Native English speakers don't really say AHnimation, and "anime" is typically used as a shorthand term for (Japanese) animation.
etc aka "et cetera" - there's no x in there but people often pronounce it that way, same with espresso.
Also, "couldn't care less" spoken and then later written as "could care less". Doesn't make any sense. If you could care less, you do care!
About Ghibli, I was intrigued and did a bit of research. Apparently the original italian pronunciation was pronounced with a hard g and Miyazaki wrongfully used a soft one? So maybe pronounce the wind from North Africa with a hard g and the studio with a soft g and you were half right
German people tend to pronounce sushi like zushi as in zebra or zoo And kawaii as kawai with dropping tone like kaWAi (I heard that literally in a TV commercial). There are a lot more examples.

I hear the same mispronunciations of 酒/さけ, often written saké to distinguish it from the English word sake /ˈseɪk/.
Also people for some reason like to insert an extra syllable in Tokyo and Kyoto, making them to•ki•o and ki•yo•to. Drives me crazy.
I forgot to mention I heard someone pronounce "meme" (as in the joke format) like "Me-Me" instead of "Meem"... (I frankly do not know which is actually correct, but Me-Me sounds very wrong to my ears.)
This is specific to me (as I'm from here) and quite rare, but Gloucester. It looks like Glau-ce-st-or should be how you pronounce it, and your correct... If that's the correct spelling. You see Gloucester used to be pronounced like that but as time went on, the working class (illiterate) eventually shortened it to Glo-ster (if that makes sense), and the spelling never changed, and hearing people in the city itself try to, at least, pronounce it the old way, still frustrates me. Especially as its in the county of Gloucestershire.
Speaking of which, people pronouncing shire like shia-re (think of how you pronounce the wordfire). This one is even worse as there are people still trying to argue that the wrong pronunciation is correct, but to me it sounds too, i guess, shouty, as in its like your trying to over pronounce ire for no reason.
I don't care when people who have never lived over here says it like that, as they know no different, but over here its a universally accepted pronunciation.
There are probably other things that comes to mind, but this dominates my thought (especially the shire thing)

The correct pronunciation is like shur, like someone tried to say sure but didn't end the word and extended the urr part (with the h obviously)(if that makes sense).
It's one of those English pronunciations that confuse the rest of the world. I kind of liken it to my name, Luke, you don't pronounce the e and if you do it is a completely different name.
Idk if this makes sense, I'm not good with describing this stuff.
