When I take quizzes, I get review terms. I turned off mix other terms into quiz but they still show up. How do I turn off review term question?

Let me rephrase your request to see if i understood you correctly:

You want to only study new terms without review terms in your practice, is that right?

If so, my experience is that i have never found such option configuration. Maybe Michael or some other older members can weigh in on this.

On the other hand, I think this is by design which is part of the spaced-repetition-system to keep the brain reviewing terms until it moves to our long term memory.

However, from my shallow understanding of the system to achieve your goals, there is a hacky but incomplete way to go around it: create a new temporary schedule adding just those specific new terms to it and do the exercise.

The terms you learnt is stored in the system. It seems to be store as per term-vector, and it applies to all schedules as "learned" even if you remove the temporary schedule.

There is also community lists at the lesson center which you can do specific sets of terms there too.

Hope it helps with you a bit, until orthordox help arrives.

Ok thanks for the advice. It only appears when I review the n5 schedule so I’m assuming it’s from another grammar schedule that I completed but haven’t reviewed in a while

From what you described, do you mean that the number of review terms are more than what you studied?

The number of grammar terms for review does not always reflect the number of actual quiz questions as there might be more than one question for each of the grammar review terms.

In addition, your N5 schedule may also contain and overlap with other lessons/quiz you have taken in the lesson center and community lists. As mentioned before, your progress is stored in the system as per term-vector, and some other grammar practice may have overlaped with your current N5 unstudied terms causing them to become studied terms, and adding to your review terms.

I see this overlap commonly with the kanji schedule and vocabulary schedule, but not yet noticed grammar that much. I skipped N5, so I did not have observed directly on any overlaps.

One other possible issue may be the schedule settings, as each schedule's settings are separate, so make sure you set up N5 grammar schedule settings specifically too.

Again, the above points are mostly my hypothesis, and may not be correct. Let us know more if it helps or you have narrowed down the issue or solved it
