Definitely try Wagakki Band, they're my favorite band. They did a lot of Vocaloid covers, but also a lot of original songs. There's eight band members, and many of them have solo music too so you can try that too
My favourites have always been Mafumafu and Ado! Since someone has already recommended Ado's songs, I'll recommend some from Mafumafu instead: - 夢のまた夢 (Yume no Mata Yume) - 輪廻転生 (Rinne Tensei) - ひともどき (Hitomodoki) - ジグソーパズル (Jigsaw Puzzle) - とおせんぼう (Toosenbo) - ユウレイ (Yuurei) - 空腹 (Kuufuku)
He also produces songs for his unit with Soraru, known as After the Rain!
Hello, I personally like old songs. My favorite artist from the 70s is イルカ (Iruka). I like her soothing voice and how clear her pronunciation is. Japanese language sounds so beautiful and magical in her voice. My favorite songs by her are なごり雪 (nagoriyuki) and 君は悲しみの (kimi wa kanashiimino)
Hi, I think you should check out SPYAIR, their songs are sooo good and meaningful (if you are into anime you may know them from either Haikyuu or Gintama)
My personal favorites are Sakuramitsutsuki and Orange, but they made lots of good songs honestly
I love vocoloid but It can be hard to understand. I recommend E ve, he made one of all time favorite songs お気に召すまま or As you like it! It's about a boy who fighting with differnt versions of himself of differnt paths he could've taken while trying to find his own identity and trying to get the girl.

Soo you'll either love these or hate these. When and before I first started listening to Jpop, I was genuinely weirded out by the whole music genre. (Like, I literally used to listen and watch Jpop LIVE just to make fun of it.. still eventually ended up liking those songs..)
My point is to experience and listen to a lot of different songs and artists to see what best suits your taste ;)
as my pfp prolly suggests, i'm a huge fan of vocaloid ! Untranslated vocaloid songs are the sole reason I started learning the language^^
If you're into potentially darker songs, I suggest...
きくお (popular for his incredible sound design ! generally electronic. i recommend the kikuomiku4 album!), SOOOO (mostly breakcore, and VERY loud stuff) and my all-time favorite band, ばぶちゃん組 ! (genre varies, mostly very experimental)
i also like some other artists but those are my main 3 so ya
The entire Milgram channel. It's a series of trials where you try to figure out a characters crime and whether you forgive them or not through music videos. The creator of it (DECO 27) also makes vocaloid songs on the deco 27 channel. The characters from Milgram sing covers of some of those songs that release with every trial and voice drama.
suilen - Haru no Kuni
Suilen is an underrated band that broke up years ago. I've found out about them through an anime I love.
If you like rock, I definitely reccomend BAND-MAID, Blue Encount and polkadot stingray! Also, if you like metal/hard rock/ visual kei I think The Gazette, Dadaroma, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, and Hanabie are all good too. In terms of j-pop I also like Eve (his new song insomnia is so good).
