You will be able to speak very simple phrases in that time, but the chances of being able to have a conversation more complex than "Where is the toilet?" or "My dog is cute" are pretty low. Building foundational grammar and vocab and training your brain to be able to work out Japanese sentence structure at the pace of speech takes a lot of time, and 4 months is probably not enough to get anywhere near comfortable.

But if your goal is to start speaking right away and want to test out resources that could help, check your local library for beginner language learning tapes like Pimsleur (also available from the Internet Archive) or if they give you access to any audio-lesson-based learning apps (mine gives access to Rocket Languages). Those kinds of resources are very conversation-focussed and are built around getting you comfortable with the flow of speaking and provide you with scripts that you can just swap words out of to fit different situations. They are unfortunately pretty terrible at getting you to actually understand the grammar, but they're great for practicing speaking and building simple sentences.

In fact, after 4 months, school will start, and the problem is that I have the final exam for middle school, so I don’t think I will have time to study Japanese, and I fear I will forget everything I studied after that.

Why the rush though? Learning a new language, especially a totally foreign one, takes some time, it's better to take it slow and be patient if you want to understand everything clearly and don't neglect anything important, repetition is the key to memorize and keep the informations you learn, never get tired of exercises and repetition.

and then, even if you were able to finish the N5 level, you'll be able to make very simple and basic sentences that aren't really fitting for a variable long conversations.

If school is much important than learning Japanese which I guess it's just a hobby for most of us? Focus on your studies and make a schedule to study for school, and to study Japanese, that way, you won't neglect school studies and focus on Japanese, which means won't cause you stress or make any problems for you.

Remember to be patient with the learning process, enjoy it.

You can start speaking today... but 4 months is nothing. Not sure what the rush would be, you said school so I will assume a hot Japanese boy/girl is there that you want to impress haha, if that's the case, most Japanese people (in Japan at least) are just happy if you try.

are you kidding me?? I'm serious

Thank you all guys

But you don't understand... Of course I'm not crazy to want to learn everything about the language in 4 months.. You know what they say good things come to those who wait.. I just asked if I would be able to form simple sentences and have daily conversations in this time

Because if it is yes, that means I can practice speaking and writing (hiragana). I won't forget the grammar lessons that I studied this summer.

If I understand correctly, what you're saying is you're wondering if you will be able to learn enough in four months that you can self practice without using Renshuu or studying like that because you will be busy with school, you want to be able to practice what you already know by speaking and writing to yourself?

In four months you should easily be able to learn enough to do that. As long as you can write hiragana and katakana and know how to pronounce them all you can write/say simple sentences like ねこはかわいいです, and no matter how basic it is, practicing will reinforce what you already know and help you get better. (Although you could learn much more than that in four months)

I haven't been learning much besides vocabulary for several months, but everyday I learn new things just by seeing people talk about Japanese, hearing Japanese in anime etc. etc., even though I usually don't understand any of it. If you learn enough basic grammar and vocabulary, you will be surprised how much you can pick up just being exposed to any Japanese
