Thanks to the cooperation of several community members, I am removing 5 kao coins that were submitted by users, but were either AI-generated, or in the case of one coin, a minor edit to a pre-existing image.
Over the next hour, all users who have these coins in their collections will have them remained, and they'll receive a message in their renshuu inbox about it.
For each coin removed, a user will receive enough gacha bonus points to be able to pull a guaranteed new coin of the same rarity. This is perfect, as the first batch of new coins from this year's Kao coin contest is being added later today!

Alrighty! I am just renshuuing away here and haven't been paying attention to the coins and things.
I don't like the full-stop stance against anything AI on the website as I think that it could be leveraged somewhere in a controlled setting but it is what it is.
While I also do not use AI for any content generation, these coins were specifically removed because they were submitted in contests for user-drawn coins, and using AI tools was expressly forbidden. I unfortunately did not have the safeguards in place to handle that during last year's contest, but it went very smoothly this year. The removed coins were all from last year.
I absolutely hate the proliferation of AI in art and have seen a number of language apps become much worse over the last few years in terms of quality because they rely on AI to craft their content for them so I really appreciate this stance.

I’m pretty happy that you don’t use AI for this app/website, since that’s a sign of good quality and different from those other poor language websites that use AI and turn out being trash.
