掲示板 Forums - Unicode arrow in mnemonic removes kanji clickability

H. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong: when trying to write a mnemonic and adding the original version of a radical, like for completeness, I see some people using the "left arrow" symbol. But if I add the same, the kanji loses the (amazing, btw) clickability from the dictionary.
From this image, the mnemonic for "wash" is mine and has this problem (water kanji became unclickable) and the one for "reside" is someone else's, working correctly.
Best regards.
I’ve never been able to get that to work either. I have always assumed it’s a legacy feature that isn’t available for new mnemonics, but it would be good to know the real story.
Those arrows are actually added automatically in certain situations - they are not done by the users themselves. At the moment, it is not possible for the user to add extra stuff in the marked (grey, in that screenshot) box except for the single character.
A follow-up: I noticed that on the Android app, on the dictionary pages, zooming in and tapping the kanji will in fact go to its dictionary page. So there's no bug.
What I described in the first post actually only happens in the Me > My Writing > Mnemonics page, so it's not an issue, as readers will be on the dictionary viewing mnemonics and will be able to click on kanji and see their defs.
Please consider this solved. Cheers.
I’d still like to know exactly when arrows are added automatically, and if there is any evidence that the process is still working.
I would do this: find one that has the arrows, then try making a private mnemonic using the same parts in original one to experiment :)
I’ve done that. Well, except for making it private.
Weird - maybe I took it out. Unfortunately, I do not have time at the moment to dig into the mnemonic code and figure out what is going on there.
