I created a set of lists, and then added a kanji helper schedule for the set. Initially, everything was working perfectly. But I’ve noticed, that as I add additional lists to the set, the kanji helper is not updating to show that there are unstudied terms. The new kanji are appearing in the helper schedule as new terms, but the scheduler is still saying that all terms have already been studied, and when I look at all terms it classifies the new kanji as already having been studied. So they’re there, but it’s not having me study them. Has anybody else experienced this, or know how to fix it?
I'm not quite clear on what you're describing - if you can clarify a few things for me, then we can work with it.
When you say "set of lists", do you mean a set as in a group of lists on the Community Lists (or My lists) page?
If that's the case, there may be a misunderstanding with how those interact with the schedule. If you have a Set (let's call it "Book I'm reading", and then you have 4 lists of words in it and add it to a schedule, then the schedule will have those four lists.
Now, if you add words to those 4 lists, the schedule should bring those new words into the schedule automatically (And that should follow through to the helper schedule when those new words are studied (or if they are already studied).
However, if you now add a 5th list to "Book I'm reading", that is not automatically added to the schedule. Schedules cannot have "sets" added to them - they can only have one or more lists from a set added.
Thanks for responding マイコー. I guess my post could’ve been clearer. I have already figured out how the sets and lists work and how to create schedules and add them to my dashboard. I have also been able to create a kanji helper for the vocabulary lists. The trouble I was having was just with the kanji helper itself. It seemed like kanji were being added to the kanji helper automatically when I added words to my lists (as it should be), but then they weren’t registering as “new” kanji to be studied and quizzed. I could see the new kanji show up on the master list of terms, but the drop down menu was not identifying them as “new”, so they remained unstudied. I’ve gone in and adjusted some of the settings, and I did get some of them to pop up now. I’m not even sure what I adjusted, because I was fiddling with a bunch of the settings, but it seemed that something worked. I guess I’m still figuring out how to work with some of the schedulers, especially after they transition into “review.” For example, one of my vocabulary lists that has been in “review” for a while now, seems to keep giving me the same words to review, and is not cycling through the whole list. The words that it’s reviewing are easy words that I didn’t miss a bunch of times, so I don’t know why it’s just reviewing those words. But that’s a digression. Anyway, I think I’m OK for now. I’ll just keep messing with the settings. If I continue to have a problem, I’ll write a follow up. Thank you.
For the ones that were not appearing as "new", I presume that you mean they were not appearing at the beginning of the quiz saying "here are your new terms", right?
Had you studied them anywhere else in renshuu, and/or has you marked them with a mastery level?
Yes, they weren’t showing up as “new terms” on the quiz or on the page that shows all of the terms. I haven’t marked them with any mastery level. I may have studied some of them before elsewhere in Renshuu, but I don’t think all of them. I’ll start paying attention to that.
