It's like you read my mind
I recently wrote another poem for a composition project! The theme is beauty in sorrow
Flowers
To love a rose although it harms
Is beauty in the purest pain
I fell for all your friendly charms,
Yet I would doubtless fall again.
I'm not surprised I care for you
Regardless of the bitter tears--
You were my only stronghold through
The most of all my saddest years.
I know that this is not the end.
In fact, it's beautiful to see
How God can take these broken strands
And weave a brand-new tapestry.
Your loveliness remains with me
Though heartache tints the darkest hours.
When teardrops cloud the things I see,
You still remind me of the flowers.
