my only suggestion would be a Misskey community or Element.io server its very similar to discord and you can have bots in it too. i know and love your commitment to Renshuu, マイコー. when i started using it i rapidly noticed how renshuu has its own personality with kao and so on and people in the community are very nice i have nothing to complain and i understand how this came to happen i honestly was surprised how well you manage the forums since i started here and i cant imagine the stress you have of so much responsibility and wanting to focus more your time in improving renshuu with quality of life features i noticed some changes since i started and its never bad changes i noticed. only had issues with images displaying but i know it was a transition to optimize things and i hardly have the issues now too.
my suggestion of Misskey community / Element.io server is because i know many including myself avoid Discord for privacy reasons in some places it forces people to send real life ID to use it or phone number and some people dont like linking so much personal information in the internet. not to say too Discord is US-based company i know its based in California and its the only place in the US worried in protecting digital consumers privacy but its not the same like European Union/GDPR or Japan/APPI.
US companies monetizing data like big social medias and Discord is known for selling data of their users without proper acknowledgement
i love how much you care about renshuu users and does none of it you barely collect data so its why i suggest them but i dont know how feasible would be for you. probably still more stress anyway so i understand if none is possible. just want to say you can bridge a server channel chat from Element.io to a Discord server chat too so people can see messages from specific channels from both. i know the data of the messages will get to Discord but users personal data tied to account wont be issue if it were to happen this.
again. i totally understand if you cant do none of them and im glad renshuu exists and is operated by you in such respectful manner to the users and im very thankful for it
you can have bots in it too. i know and love your commitment to Renshuu, マイコー. when i started using it i rapidly noticed how renshuu has its own personality with kao and so
Bots are AI, 'course I thought of 'em before suggesting mods.
幸美姫 there is multiple types of bots its not what you think about i meant. Discord bots dont neccessarily use AI they are just automated processes and the ones using AI is usually called AI bots. the bots i talk of basically relies a message from the Element.io server channel to a Discord server channel theres like 0 need or use of AI for such thing. this way messages could be deleted from both sides by mods if the bot has elevated role on Discord to delete message to sync them. i dont think you could bridge the voice channels only the text channels. but again it would take マイコーs time to set it up so i understand if he decides not to.
I think you're confused about what エアシイヂ meant, not bots on Renshuu but on the other thing. Michael made a Kao bot on the Renshuu Discord server already so I don't think it bothers him
yes i dont mean bots on forums theres like 0 reason for it and why chatting on forum reasonably came to be this big issue for マイコー the bots would be on the Discord server and Element.io server. moderation from Element.io would be delegated moderation to Discord moderators because the messages would go through Discord despite coming from Element.io its why i call it a bridge bot so the moderation can be done from Discord. i embedded some videos if you are wondering why someone should care about digital privacy. in a perfect world every country would have GDPR/APPi-like laws to protect its citizens data in the internet from being used without proper consent and acknowledgement but its not the case and Discord as i said is a US company and US has a very big issue with data brokers. i suggest you look into data broker investigations in the US. 60 minutes is a very credible journalist media so you can watch theirs they have one about it too.
dont get me wrong i am talking about privacy regarding Discord not renshuu itself. renshuu barely collects data and マイコー has listed in another topic telemetry scripts renshuu has and why in each being bug tracking and reporting so fair uses in my opinion but Discord collects fair beyond what they need. again its not a renshuu issue i talk of im talking about a Discord issue its not issue with renshuu's Discord server its issue with Discord in general as i said in some places they (Discord as a whole. not renshuu) ask for peoples ID or phone numbers to be able to use it and its not the only overreach data collection Discord does. they (Discord) state in their ToS people barely read it since its common habit not to in the internet for average users to worry about reading the Terms of Service.
few bits from Discord own Terms of Service proving my point:
This Service may employ, either identifiable or non-identifiable, data collection from third party sources about you.
basically admitting they engage with data brokers and information is gathered about you through third parties
The Service infers your acceptance from your continued usage, instead of prompting you to read the new Terms and asking for direct consent. This doesn’t apply to services that have no way to seek consent from users through their contact details or an account.
basically saying instead of asking directly Discord will assume your consent merely from your usage
Additional personal data may be collected through contests, surveys, promotions, petitions or sweepstakes.
basically saying extra data may be collected about you through promotions
renshuu doesnt do anything of it. renshuu is very principled and マイコー operates renshuu in very ethical manner while Discord does not. in fact Discord recently too came public into the US market and its usual with US companies going public to abuse data collection to profit off with data brokers its something it was and still is investigated but US digital laws is very different compared to say GDPR or APPi. pulling some people from here to Discord without them being aware of such things they are basically giving up rights they wouldnt have thought of or had the chance to know prior to it if they too have the average habit of not reading Terms of Service.
basically what im saying is renshuu has high standard in terms of respecting its users privacy while Discord does not match it or barely so someone leaving here to Discord will normally not be as safe in terms of data collection because Discord is a whole another platform and as i said they admit to engaging with data brokers you can check their ToS points i mentioned. sure the messages are moderated by the server moderators but its not the issue im talking about. im talking about Discord itself as a whole as possible threat vector to peoples privacy not the server specifically. you can find investigation and people having their identity stolen because of data brokers and Discord isnt shy of engaging with them and US digital laws isnt as protective as GDPR/APPI and US laws in generals is full of loopholes only making the case for US companies in these terms worse. im not criticizing renshuu im criticizing Discord itself only.
