When I'm using some of the "Community" features like the Question Corner or Haiku area, kanji that I haven't encountered in the app yet get automatically turned into kana. This makes peoples' sentences (and even some words) difficult to read.
Is there a way to turn this off? I'd like to see the kanji that people use in the community sections, even if it means I run into some kanji that I'm not familiar with yet.
This cannot be done automatically unless the other poster has used the tool to bind their answer to the dictionary (which is required to confirm which words are actually in the sentence, so renshuu can then adjust the visuals for that sentence based on your kanji knowledge)
Go to Settings -> Kanji (from the category drop down) -> Kanji level before joining renshuu? -> Set to whatever you're comfortable with. I just have it set to "Advanced", since I don't want any kanji to get turned into kana.
