Forums - I don't receive iOS nor iPadOS notifications

I have Renshuu both in an iPhone and an iPad, in their respective latest OS version, 18.5, and I have never received system notifications.

Until now I thought that that was because it only used the internal notification system, with the envelop in the menu, but I recently saw that that shouldn't be the case. I have notifications enabled at system level and app level in both devices, I tried deactivating and activating both, forcing down the app before each change, but still no difference.

At this moment in time I have the test version of Renshuu installed on the iPhone, and the regular one in the iPad.

It's not a priority for me to get notifications (I don't really mind them much), but I thought it could be relevant for other users if I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I'm sick at the moment, but if you will do me the favor to reply to this issue in a few days, it would really help me get back to it.

I am starting to slowly get back into the hang of things - are you still experiencing this issue? If so, I'll be happy to dive into it with you.

Hello, Michael! Very happy to hear of your return, I hope you are having the chance to take it easy and calm. kao_great.png

I still have this issue and nothing has changed the side of my device. Is there anything I can do to help you trace this?

This will be tricky, but yes, let's start going through the steps. First, I'd like you to log out and log back into the renshuu account on your device, then let me know once you've done so.

Done, I have logged off, shut down the app just in case, opened it again and logged in using the Apple Account SSO option.

Well, I can definitely see the issue, just not sure what's causing it.

As renshuu is an online server, when the app first logs in, it has to send renshuu a copy of your device's "id" (assigned by the messaging system that I use, OneSignal) so renshuu can know where the notification should be sent.

Before I asked you to log in, I cleared out all the entries in the device log for your account. However, after logging in, it did not appear to send it in.

I am sending in a test version of the iOS app for review. Once that is done, users will be able to test it, and it will have a tool build in that we can use to check this out. If you do not mind, please go into the menu > settings > experimental, and check the box (and save) to receive info about experimental builds/functionality. That will ensure you get the message when it's ready!

Perfect, thank you for your insightful response!

Regarding the experimental settings, ready on my side. Given the problem at hand, I might not receive a notification when the functionality is included, but if I do or you give me the heads-up through here, I will activate it right away.

Again, thank you for all your effort and care!
