A game changing "ressource" for me was to stop studying grammar with western concept and only study grammar with japanese concept in japanese.

I mainly use this site which was recommended by a japanese friend: gsc.tab=0">https://www.kokugobunpou.com/%...

Now, I won't enter the western grammar vs japanese grammar debate because I got so annoyed by some people on the renshuu server that I just quit the server. But it worked for me. Plus I can discuss grammar with japanese friend now (while I couldn't with ressources like the JLPT, tofugu, etc since Japanese don't learn or use those concept except if they learned it at university or throught foreign language study).

If you can't read japanese, Tae Kim's guide or Organic japanese with Cure Dolly are alternate ressources but they kinda mix and match western concept with japanese concept... which lead me to try to study directly in japanese. At the beginning, it was a bit hard (especially since my grammar was a bit broken with the JLPT) but after trying for a while it became easier.

Oh and if you hear that it's easier to learn a foreign language with the concept of your mothertongue argument, that's a myth... There are plenty of linguistic study that show the opposite. And for the other arguments, well, it's just unresolved question that linguist (and other) are still working on.

In the end, if you're just a learner, just try it and see for yourself if it works for you :3

I try not to do this already as it’s imo pointless to try to convert languages from each other like how the school system teaches it. Surprisingly enough it wasn’t even Japanese where I first heard of the concept you talk about where it’s not translation but thinking in the language. It was the Spanish language transfer course. The ground up thinking really helps explain a new concept instead of trying to force western grammar to backwards compete with the new information. I’ll have to check out the link you sent, I’ll let you know how it is. Thanks.

…Well coming back like 30 seconds after I sent this💀I cannot even fully comprehend whats on that page of the website you sent,I can just read bits and pieces so I’ll have to truly let you know how it is in a few months when I can read it until then it’s bookmarked.

Yeah don't worry about. It took me a few month too before I was able to read it comfortably. Just start with the (Grammar's foundations) page.

Also, for later, there is also that website with interactive exercises that are similar to the one you found at the end of each page (like the け, how to divide a sentences into "nodes"). I tried to found a ressources with a SRS system like renshuu but unfortunatly wasn't able do so :')

Still, it's one of the best that I found. Look like that

Understandable. The actual link was this: https://www.kokugobunpou.com/%E6%96%87%E6%B3%95%E3%81%AE%E5%9F%BA%E7%A4%8E/%E8%A8%80%E8%91%89%E3%81%AE%E5%8D%98%E4%BD%8D

It's ok not to really get it. It appears the page on the link was more of a guide about how to follow the guide (guide within a guide, oh my!) It definitely isn't for beginners, but seems useful to read once you get the hang of it.
