I'm somewhat confused about the difference between these different words, because I've seen them all used as "corner."

So here's my general idea of the differences:

- It can refer to a corner, but more specifically the "edge" or "horn" of something? I'm still a bit confused at this one.

- Is this one just a basic "corner"?

片隅 - Based on the kanji addition, is this a "one-sided corner", however that's to be interpreted?

This is something I've been wondering about for a while but haven't been able to figure out much of myself.

Words are flexible and hard to nail down with precision, but one way to think of it is this:

  • outside corner
  • inside corner
  • 片隅 side corner (corner off to one side)

As for 片隅 vs , here's a quote from a native speaker: "Almost same. But is used for a lonely place, outcast, isolated... is just a corner."

Shows up a lot in songs and literature in a poetic "forgotten/lonely place" kind of way.

Thanks for the replies! Now I feel like I've got it down better, and if I ever forget the differences I can just look back here. ありがとうございます!
