1. With complex mastery, a term has a mastery level for each study vector, does that mean that you get more overall mastery compared to simple mastery?

In other words, do you get more mastery stars (profile page) for studying a given term with complex mastery, compared to simple mastery? Obviously, both get that term to 100%, but is the amount of stars you get different.

2. When you manually set the mastery for a term, do you still get mastery stars? I remember reading it disqualifies you from the Leaderboard, what does that mean?

Terms always have the individual mastery levels for all vectors. (You could have the same term in several schedules, with different vectors selected, and some with simple, and some complex, but the individual vector mastery levels will be the same everywhere) The simple or complex settings, (and the vectors you select for a schedule) just affects how that specific schedule will use that info.

I see, so that percentage is schedules specific (you can see the full percentage in Advanced Search). Given that information, I assume the answer to my question about mastery stars is that, each vector going up in mastery will contribute its own stars.

For example if I increase the levels of the "Writing" or "Radical" vectors they'd give me their own mastery stars.

I think I got it. Thank you!

You still get the mastery stars in your own account, but that particular term's stars will not count in the leaderboards.
