Is there any way to fix this visual? The haiku gets cut off for some reason
Shouldn't happen and this doesn't happen on my end, have you tried restarting the app?
What device are you on? Generally, there are two responsive "layouts" you get based on a number of factors. One that's meant for Landscape and one that's meant for Portrait. They seem to "snapshot" when you open "My writing" and don't update dynamically afterwards. Here are some screenshots. On my emulator, the closest I get to your problem is with the Surface Duo.
There are also certain aspect ratio breakpoints where containers misalign.

This is just speculation on my part, but did you load "My writing" while in Landscape and then switch?
PS: This is all very specific and shouldn't happen for most people.
There's also the possibility that my emulator isn't switching layouts properly (they do that sometimes), but what I'm seeing does seem to align with your screenshot.
Edit: Actually, I guess anyone can test the layout to see if that menu reflows.
I'm on a Galaxy Tab A. This happens every time I open the Haiku page, whether I start in Landscape or not
it's been like this for a while, I just haven't tried to address it yet; I'm a part of the beta by the way, if that changes anything.
Unrelated, but I've also been having another issue for months. Every time I load the app for the first time (for example, in the morning or after I've closed the app and opened it again), the top portion of the screen is cut off and the sidebar is blank. If I switch to a different app and come back, however, it fixes itself? This started when I joined the beta.

Hmm, I'm really not too sure. You can try lowering your "Screen zoom" (should be somewhere in Display settings). On a Tab A, you're probably not hitting the "mobile" breakpoint for that menu, regardless of orientation.
Edit: Any 16:10 model shouldn't really have these issues though. The 4:3 model is the most likely to have them.
You're just stuck in between these two breakpoints:
Here you can see how the "boxes" extend right:
The other issue is something Michael needs to look into.
Yup, it should work now. Could you do the same for the bottom element if possible :)
It's not required, but it does look a bit weird.
