Ok so sometimes I see a dash at the end of a name of word and I was wondering if that dash really makes or difference and what it actually does/means? Thank you!!

The dash elongates the vowel.

Maybe they just copied ジョースター (from JoJo's) without knowing what those 'ー' mean?

Yeah, I asked a friend of mine if my translation of Joestar was correct and they told me to add the dashes so I did but never asked what the dashes ment until now
