Tl;Dr:
Number of questions do not matter - it's a "studied some" vs "studied none", that's it :)
Now, some trees have more or less stages than others, so the growth may seem more obvious. Other trees have two stages that may look very similar at first glance.
Thank you to the wonderful ワアイすさぬ for experimenting tree growth, and for finding the above thread.
Thank you also to Hruk 3—one of Renshuu's top arborists.

Rather than deleting the thread, I'll leave it up in case others may have the same question on their tree growth journey.
Many thanks to the fabulous Renshuu community.

Does the attached mastery schedule need to be entirely completed for it to count towards a day's worth of growth for the tree? Or would any effort (at least one completed quiz) count towards "a day of studying"?

My apologies if this has been already answered elsewhere, I couldn't find information in my preliminary search. (If it's been answered elsewhere, I'll gladly delete.)
I believe any effort counts. Not 100% sure though. I could test it out for you, if you'ld like :) I need to grow some new peachtrees anyway.

Thank you, that would be lovely.
So far it's been manageable to complete the schedules. But they are beginning to ramp up and I wondered whether my trees will grow by spring if I don't complete them entirely. Lol.
PS. You have a beautiful garden.
thank you
I stared the experiment.
You might want to consider adjusting your schedule once it get's to much or - even better - before it does. You can reduce the amount of new terms you want to learn in a day, set the maximum amount of words/sentences etc to study per day.... and do many more adjustments in the settings. If you haven't checked that out yet, it's really worth looking into.
So I think it works. I didn't finish everything I had to study yesterday in the attached schedule and it says my little sapling will grow in 9 days :) I wll do the same today, just to make sure, tomorrow it will be 8 days.
I love your garden design with the tea house, zen garden and koi pond! Would love to visit in real life
I have grown quite a few trees, and I believe you need to answer at least 5 questions correctly for that schedule to count towards the tree's growth that day.
I think this was even written somewhere, but I might be remembering wrong.
I found a thread in the forum were マイコー先生 answered the question. I couldn't figure out how to insert a working link, so you are getting a screenshot:
It's important to remeber though that "focused review" does not count. You need at least one term in the schedule that needs to be studied.

Success!
Thank you again for testing it out. Great idea. I appreciate your scientific approach of gathering a greater sample size.
Can't wait to see your peach trees bloom!

Thank you
It's still quite basic at this point. Hopefully with enough practice I can design it as well as yours. ^__^
Wouldn't that be lovely? I would also love to visit your Kao garden in real life. Though, I can only imagine all the visitors queuing to see it.

Thank you for finding this!
You're amazing.
(I knew I wasn't looking hard enough. Someone was bound to have wondered the same before.)
Mystery solved!

That's very helpful.
Indeed! You are quite the arborist. I love the forest you've created; it provides a great sense of nature and adventure.
Yes, ワアイすさぬ found the thread that confirms number of questions don't matter—either some or none.
