I know you're not adding new features right now, but when you get a chance, can you add a setting that includes extraneous answers in fill-in-the-blank grammar questions? For example, 7 options on a question with 4 blanks. You can use the same system that generates distractors for MC questions to create them.
This would be *extremely* hard to do. As in, VERY hard. It would be a dream if I could do that, but there is basically no way to automate this process in the way that incorrect answers are automatically chosen for vocabulary/kanji questions.
I cannot get into all of it without spending a lot of time, but in a nutshell, there is too much in a sentence that could also be a legitimate sentence if other words were tossed in there.
Very contrived example: let's say you wanted to expand the words for ビル. If we were to hand pick them, we could put in things that do not たおれる (such as an apple, or a road). However, what if the system chose ひと, or がっこう, or たてもの? All of those would create natural Japanese sentences, and one of them would even fit the English definition.
