enjoy them :) they are just cute and a fun way to remember words in Japanese, but have no further function. I guess it's a bit like collecting stamps.
If you click on the japanese word written next or under the coin it takes you directly to the dictionary:

so if I click on "taiyou" for example it shows me the word "sun" in the dictionary and I'll be able to remember the word for sun more easily
As for the points, you get one point for each time you receive a coin that you already have, and you can exchange the points for coins you don't have – a little like trading doubles for collectibles.
Many Kao coins are created by regular Renshuu users. There's a competition each October, so if you like drawing you can participate too!

The one point is only for regular coins
For the silver marked (rare) ones you already have, you get 10 points
Than for the yellow marked (ultra rare) you already have, you get 25 points
These points can be used to exchange for coins you do not have
And if you have all of them, you can save it for next year's batch of coins as every year there is a art competition to create coins and heaps get added in (I think 300+ was added into the loot in 2025 and current total is well over 1000 [thousand])
Points exchange 'cost'
For normal: 5 points
Rare: 50 points
Ultra rare: 100 points
Also apologies for lengthy description. I bolded key bits
P.S: for the topic title, please don't just write 'hi', please write what you want to talk about or your question so it is easier for others to not have to click into the topic forum to discuss about it. And it also makes the forum topics ore distinguishable.
If everyone wrote 'Hi' or 'hello' or the alike, who knows what we are talking about and what's the topic.
