There are 2 icons to hide a sentence. One is next to the English translation, the other is the usual hide icon above the add icon.
Is there a difference between the two?
The 2 circled in red:

Not quite. - the eye that appears just behind the English for any sentence will prevent it from appearing anywhere in renshuu - word examples, etc.
The Hide icon at the bottom is for preventing it from appearing in your sentence quizzes.
