Are you talking about the "JLPT-style ★ questions"? You basically just have to pick which answer goes where the star is. I don't use them, but they should help if you're taking the test.
Having said that, I can't think of anything that's a must have. Pro has some nice features for writing, but JLPT doesn't test writing at all. The "Listening questions" might be worth it. I use some of the "Advanced question types" for Kanji, those are nice. It's not like you *need* them though.
