In various places there are some sort of messages which state that you can earn a certain amount of xp by doing a certain action. But your real kao-chan levels work with percentages, and there's no way to see how much xp equals 1% (or similar).
A bit different, but it also seems like you earn less xp if you've already done some quizzes. My first quiz of a day blows up with xp but the others seem to be kind of small amounts compared to the first. This could also be me who exits a quiz early though.
The only thing you really need to know is that there's a soft cap on how much XP you can earn each day. Assuming consistency, this averages out to about 2 levels a day.
There are two "buckets" with independent caps:
Community activities and Games. Shiritori being the fastest way to hit soft cap in this bucket.
Quizzes and Daily Challenges. Keep in mind the cap scales with how much you study (some sort of 7-day average, I think), so it's impossible to "grind" XP.
※ After hitting soft cap you get close to 0% XP no matter what you do.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think 1% is equivalent to 1 xp. So after playing a word in Shiritori and it says “5xp” or whatever number it is, that means 5% to your Kao. Each level takes the same amount of xp to complete, unlike classic rpgs and other games where the required xp scales with your level.
This is just what I’ve picked up passively while using the app, so if this isn’t completely accurate, sorry.

Yes, but the XP you actually receive gets progressively smaller, until you eventually start getting less than 0.01% for each word played.
