Has anyone here taken the AP Japanese test? My school doesn’t have Japanese classes, but I could study myself and take the exam. The official College Board website makes it seem like it’ll be really hard, but I’m wondering how difficult it really is. I’ve taken AP exams many times and I know that they’re sometimes easier than people say, and even if you don’t know all the material you can sometimes pass just by stretching out what you do know.
So I guess my question is, would it be possible to self study and pass AP Japanese this spring if I’m currently at N4 level? My workload from my classes will be pretty light so I’ll have plenty of time for studying.
Probably. AP Japanese is supposed to be equivalent to a year of college Japanese. It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed the curriculum, but as I recall it’s mostly N4/N5 material.
