I'm not sure what you mean by achievements.
You can see your daily challenges on the homepage. Those give you experience towards your kao-chan, which is also on the homepage.
There's more dailies on the garden page. Those give you garden coins you can spend on objects for your garden.
There's kao coins, which are fun little pictures you get whenever you compete a quiz. Those are also on the homepage.
You can use the "rearrange dashboard" button to add things to your homepage if you don't see them.
I’m fairly new as well, but hope to be able to help! My guess is you might refer to your quests? which you find by clicking on Gardens and scrolling down :>

Maybe they mean changing their garden to the hanko achievements motivator instead?
To change this you click the three lines in the top left -> click the settings button -> change the category from my info to motivators -> scroll down and change the achievement system to use from kao garden to hankos.
I am not sure if you meant this or if you did indeed mean your kao garden but I hope this helped
