Hello! I was answering the following question in the question corner: 着物を着たことがありますか?

And due to my memory being a bit lacking, I wanted to say that I wore a kimono during an opera as a child even though it was in fact only my sister who wore a kimono, I was wearing something else kao_worry.png but I was so focused on figuring out all the vocabulary and grammar needed for my sentance that I completely blocked that part out haha. Maybe it was because I didn't like dress I had to wear very much kao_lazy.png

Anyway, this is the sentence I ended up piecing together with the help of the on-site dictionary before I remembered that the whole thing was in fact a lie: はい。子供の時,子供のオペラ合唱団に合唱しました。オペラパフォーマンスに数回着物を着ました。

And I was left with this question: is there a better way to express that I (even though it was actually my sister...) wore a kimono for the performances of a specific opera, rather than for a few "random" opera performances? I'm not familiar with very many different counters yet, so I'm not sure how to say "one opera (but multiple performances of that opera)" or if any other grammar should be used to convey this etc. Tysm for any tips thanks.pngneko_what.png

Actually, I think your sentence was pretty well made, although I get what you're trying to do with it. I guess you could make it "着物を着たパフォーマンスがあって、そのパフォーマンスで数着着物が着られました" or something like that. Maybe even swap the start out for "あるパフォーマンスがあって、..." to set it up for the details about it afterward. I'm not sure how opera stuff works exactly, but I'm guessing that she changed into many kimono throughout the opera at different points where they do a costume change?

回 can be used for times, if you wanted to go with that counter you could say "数回別の着物に着替えた" or something like that. 着 is a counter for clothes (which I'd assume includes kimonos.) "数着" means a few pair of clothes which works perfectly to indicate that there were multiple kimonos that "you got to wear / were able to wear". (Idk why but I like the passive there, but thats just me) Hope this helps some (sorry it's a couple weeks after the fact too)

(Side note that I needed the dictionary for a few things there too including the passive for 着る xP)

Thank you so much for your response! I'm new to using this forum so I'm not sure if there is a way to reply to you directly or not. The kimono was only worn in one scene, the clothing style changed quite a lot between scenes. No worries about it being a while since I posted this, I really appreciate you taking the time to give me some tips! :)
