Hi! I'm wondering if it's generally recommended to enable fill-in-the-blank questions for Kanji. I've been studying with the kanji -> onyomi & kanji -> kunyomi settings enabled, because I thought it might be important to see if I can actually recall the reading without having choices in front of me. However, I can tell that it is lowering my accuracy on kanji quizzes. With an SRS system like Renshuu, I'm wondering if that will long-term cause an accumulation of terms to review and/or bog down my learning pace. Does anyone have experience/advice with this?
TLDR; I'm mostly asking if it's worth it to have the fill-in-the-blank questions enabled to test if I can recall straight from memory, or if it's not worth the lowered accuracy on quizzes.
That’s not a decision that anyone else can make for you. It’s up for you to decide how and when and how much studying to do depending on factors that are known only to you.
If you’re curious, try changing it. If you don’t like it, change it back.
