Recently, my activity on renshuu has decreased, I haven't been doing my daily quests and have been finding excuses to study less kao_cry.png .

My burnout is taking over quite fast and I feel like I'm barely holding on since I'm already stressed with things like friends and work so I just need a few people to encourage me to not quit kao_joy.png !

(Oh god I still haven't done my daily quests yet kao_thunder.png)

Don’t guilt trip. Go ahead and take a break. You’ll come back if it’s important to you, and if not, then you’ve learned something about yourself.

Go to your local (or 2 hour drive lol) ramen/sushi place and try to surprise yourself how many items you can read or understand, or see it as a motivation to learn. Shio: salty! Yasai? Veggies! It is much more fun to know why you are learning it. kao_guts.png

Sounds like you might be going too hard. Try lowering your new terms per day. If that's not enough, find another way to lower your daily reviews. It's important to find a pace that's sustainable for you, otherwise you will burn out.

It's okay to take a break once in a while, too. Nobody can keep this up literally daily forever. Life gets in the way sometimes. Bounce back when you can.

To add to the great advice above: you can enable holidays on Renshuu. It might lower pressure a bit. After all, there's no use to daily streaks if you can't keep up with them. Find your own pace.

There are so many ways to learn Japanese. Some take it slow and steady, others barge through it at an energetic pace, and yet others take long breaks to gather motivation and energy for whenever they do feel like learning.

Eventually, there will be no concrete 'end' to learning a language, so finding a pace that keeps you going is what's most important kao_guts.png

each schedule has its own settings. click on the schedule, and then i think it’s a cogwheel (or perhaps just a link that says settings). in there you’ll find a whole bunch of settings which allow you to configure how much you want to learn by day or week etc.

if you’re struggling to finish your daily reviews, you should definitely stop learning new items until the workload becomes more manageable. once you’re managing to do all of your reviews every day again, start learning new stuff.

do not let your reviews pile up! that pile quickly becomes unmanageable, and will make your learning worse!

Don't push yourself! If you feel tired, take time to take care of yourself. Japanese practice is not a need. (even though it is good to drill yourself.) I had a friend practicing Mandarin, and her grades (it was a school class) started dropping, because she was on a dance team. She told the teacher, and the teacher totally validated it, and started taking less points off and rewarding good work. Her grades SKYROCKETED, and she knows Mandarin fluently now! Take a break if you need one!!!

If you quit you will miss out on great experiences like going to Japan (which I personally love) you can be the only person in your family who knows Japanese.
