First I had a kanji helper schedule bug and *stop* adding kanji from the new terms I added to its linked vocab list, forcing me to remake it. Now suddenly a few weeks later all of them have added optional kanji despite me having the "study rare kanji" for those terms turned off. I logged into Renshuu today and it's got ~50 more kanji in it, despite those terms still showing as hiragana with rare kanji off in the vocab list. Is this intended now? Or is it just bugged again and I'll have to remake it?
Edit to add, I just noticed it's all my kanji helper schedules doing this.
First off, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I'd like to look into it, but I'll need a few specific words/kanji examples that are causing issues so I can look into it.
There has been no change that I can think of, so it definitely sounds like a bug that I need to fix.
No worries about the delay, only that it randomly resolved itself after 2 1/2 days when I opened Renshuu and it was back to normal so I have no idea what happened 😅 I never changed any settings or anything.
It was any term I had in a vocab schedule that was listed as hiragana but has a "rarely used" kanji version that can be toggled on with the little checkbox. Eg I have a lot of animal terms with rarely used kanji vocab such as "lizard" and the associated kanji, "spider", "ant", "bat", "scorpion" etc. Some terms in my vocab schedules I have rare kanji turned on if I happen to be familiar with the kanji, but many (such as those) it's turned off.
So it seems the bug was that all my kanji helper schedules were reading "study rare kanji" as "on" for *all* applicable terms in their linked vocab schedules and therefore adding all the associated kanji, despite those terms still showing as the checkbox being unchecked when I went in to the vocab schedules to see if that was the issue. Checking and re-unchecking the rare kanji box in the vocab schedule didn't remove the kanji from the helper schedule- they stayed there regardless every time I came back on Renshuu until randomly resolving after a couple days where suddenly they were gone and my schedules were back to normal.
