Hi hi! I am super new to all of this. I'm hoping to become fluent so that I can finish my animation schooling in Japan. It's nice to meet you all.

Welcome! Are you currently living in Japan?

no not yet I need to become fluent before I can apply to the art school I want. It's going to take a while, but it'll be worth it😊

There is no need to become fluent before going. Are there international art schools?

One might argue fluency comes by immersing youself in the country anyway.

Hello, Odin here. I've already learned to be semi-fluent in 2 other languages, being German and French (it's been years since I learned any French and subsequently forgot it after middle school lol). I'm still trying to keep on top of my German and returning to my studies of Japanese. My main motivation is I want to be a mangaka, with my own series already planned. I've always found the culture interesting, and with a history that had been so heavily dictated by war suddenly coming to peace (for the most part) really piqued my interest. The regions and their own histories are fun enough to learn of, and the various eras really offer a lot to dig your teeth into. Anyway, I hope to find success in both the East and the West with my series. I'm nowhere near ready to start putting it together but I want it to be based on Kendo and the various styles within/around it. Here's to a fun learning experience and happy days connecting to a culture once seemingly so far away!

I'm Oeykue. It means short story. As in literature genre.

I have been learning Japanase for six years and study for N5/N4. It's a side hobby of mine, so I don't really devote much time about it. I'm 22 and finished my fourth year in college and have five ahead of me. Math sucks but it can suck for me

It's really late now, so if you want to know something just go ahead. Hehe

Hi there don't really know what's going on now (😅) but I think we're meant to introduce ourselves so here I go!

My name is Honokaski (Well, not really) I've been using Renshuu for about 2-ish months now and I really enjoy the Question Corners and I think I spend more time on them than actually studying but¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I am using Renshuu because I quit doing Japanese school after school. And eventually, my Japanese got a bit(okay, a lot) rusty. I'm hoping I can go to Japan soon with PERFECT Japanese skills (I doubt it though). And the whole reason I'm learning Japanese is because my family comes from Japan and I want to be able to communicate with them. I like: drawing, emojis, Kpop(specifically BTS, shoutout to all those ARMY's out there! Well, if there are any on this site.💜), LEGOs, watermelon 🍉, maple syrup, fruit in general etc.

Bye!

-Honokaski

Oh yeah, forgot to say that I have a goal of learning 27 languages. Only 23.5 to go!(lol)

はじめまして!チェシャともうします。よろしくおねがいいたします!

Hello! My name is Cheshire. I've been studying Japanese for over a month now (started oct 2 2023)! I like watching anime (recently started One Piece, wish me luck haha), drawing and writing! I'm a bit shy in person so I hesitate to reach out to people, but I really like talking to new people when I get the chance! This site has been very helpful for my learning, and I'm very happy to be here!

Hello! My name is Kanori. Obviously it's not my real name, I don't use my real name online. I've studied Japanese in middle school for a year mainly because my japanese teacher always put anime every friday. But I'm 22 now and I haven't kept up my studies so I forgot most of what I learned, but I remember some from binging anime for years.

I started Renshuu about half an hour ago. I still have my book of hiragana and katakana from middle school which is — Japanese Hiragana & Katakana for Beginners: First Steps to Mastering the Japanese Writing System (Includes Online Media: Flash Cards, Writing Practice Sheets and Self Quiz) https://a.co/d/56Frrbz

The other languages that I'm learning aside from Japanese are English, Korean, Chinese, Spanish and French. If you can't tell, learning new languages is my hobby.

I wanna learn Japanese first because my fiancé and I want to visit Japan one day.

チルタリス
Level: 67

Hello!

I'm Nicole. I studied Japanese during college, and lived in Japan for 2 years through the JET programme before returning to the US after covid started. Since then I've been using duolingo as a bare minimum of daily study to make sure my Japanese skills don't completely atrophy, but since duo has started relying on AI more and the volume of mistakes has skyrocketed I went on the search for better Japanese learning apps. I've been using renshuu for about a month now and it seems it'll be a great way to not just maintain my skills but finally continue increasing them too. Right now my goal is to be able to read manga in Japanese without needing to look up too many things per page lol

よろしく!
