Hello everyone! My name is Anette and I'm from Sweden. I've been studying japanese on my own now for almost 3 years. It all started because I wanted to understand what they were saying in anime and also to be able to read manga in japanese. Now I'm also aiming to do JLPT三級 next year, it just sucks that they don't have it in my country. I've also decided that I'm going to Japan after I graduate high school so I hope I can talk somewhat fluently by then. I'd like to add that I think this is a great site, it's very helpful and fun to use. ;D Well then, from now on よろしくお願いします。
Hey, I'm Sam. I go by the name 竜宮 あずま in Japanese. I stole the name from 2 places, the first name, あずま, i 'borrowed' from Azuma Kiyohiko, author of Yotsuba&! and Azumnaga Daioh, the surname 竜宮 from the character 竜宮 レナ from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, an anime i adore.
I've been studying Japanese on and off for a couple of years, but have done very little in the last year due to university. I'm getting back into it now. I'm also studying German and Mandarin Chinese.
Anyway, i had this site recommended to me and i hope it will help with my studies (if it can get me prepared for the JLPT next year i'll be more than happy). よろしくお願いします!
Have already posted a couple of replies, but I figure I'd better introduce myself!
Hiiiiii. My name's Jacqui, and I live in Okinawa. I think I read somewhere that マイケル is in his 4th year on the JET programme? Well, me too. ^_^ Currently battling my way through JLPT 2kyuu and deciding whether I want to stay on my island a 5th year.
I am Ellie and I currently live in New York. I was a JET in Tokushima-ken in 2002-2003. I neglected my Japanese for a few years, then decided to refresh it this summer. I study languages for fun. :D
Ted here. I've lived in several parts of Japan: Miyazaki-ken a looooong time ago on JET, later Nagoya, and the past several years in Tokyo.
The site looks great and I'm happy to see few familiar faces moving here from that other place that went all "Fresh" recently! Tried a few quizzes so far and enjoyed it. Very simple and direct. Probably too late to push me over the top this Sunday on the JLPT, but there is always next year...
Hi, my name is Chelsea, I live near Sarnia, Ontario, it is near London and I started learning Japanese about a month ago. Im planning to study aboard in few years, I don't know when but hopefully soon! Im going to major in Japanese in college next year :)
Welcome to the site :). I hope you enjoy it, and do let me know if you have any questions or problems! Be sure to poke around slowly when you have time - the site has a lot to offer (too much to throw out at you when you first start using it) :)
I'm Sairen and I live in Germany, so English is not my mother-tongue either ;) My age is 17 and I already learn Japanese for 2 years by now. This site can't be too old, because otherwise, I'd be surprised to not have found such a gorgeous site in the past 2 years :D
I never made any tests like the JLPT, but I'd really like to take part in the next 2級 next year, when I'm already 18. Then I don't have to worry about any permissions being necessary.
I am Horst. Born in Germany, but living in Australia for the past ten years. I am in my late forties. I have only started studying Japanese in 10/2009, so I am a total newbie. If anybody with some Japanese skills travels along the north coast of NSW in Australia - be my guest in exchange for some Japanese conversation. The area where I live is beautiful (http://dorrigo.com/attractions/the-waterfall-way/139-about-the-waterfall-way.html)
Hey, welcome to the site. I run renshuu.org, so don't hesitate to contact me (there's a contact link under Help at the top) if you have any questions.
There is no live chat - I've actually never had anyone request that. If there's enough of an interest in it, it could be something I could implement in the future.
My Japanese is still that of a small child. I only know how to say simple sentences. I sometimes write blogs in Japanese to help understand more. I'm looking forward to progressing my Japanese with this website. :D
Welcome to the site! There's a TON available here, so take your time and look around :). Feel free to message me if you have any questions or problems :)
