I had that World of Warcraft game for a while there but the major problem I had with it was that the more I upped my in game skills the more I lost my skills in real life... If however I could be gaining Japanese language skills while playing games Id definatly beable to relax and enjoy them more..
Does anyone know of any MMO's with Japanese Servers?
only thing that comes to mind is final fantasy XI - which was the main reason i liked it - i liked being able to interact with Japanese players. Although I'm sure that you could somehow order a Japanese world of warcraft - should be fun...what with the expansion coming out (im in beta right now its really fun!)
I played FFXI for 2 years, I guess I do sorta regret playing it because of the problems it and other MMORPGs cause and I wish I had spent that time doing extra Japanese study.
Anyway I spoke to many Japanese people in game because everyone plays together there is no stupid JP Onry server and English only, American only etc. There were a few nice people who admired you learning their language and gave you tips and advice however the vast majority were very game oriented and if you weren't fluent they didn't want to know and weren't going to wase precious monster hunting time to play teacher.
Anyway fun game, only MMORPG I've ever played mainly because I'm a big Final Fantasy fan, but it can cause you to become addicted and I now realise why Hikikomori's in Japan are such a problem.
