There are various Japanese kana that I do not now how to type, and it's really, really frustrating.

I'll give a few,

how do i type Di in katakana? The one with デ and イ connected (イ as a small kana)
or the zu that looks like つ?

For "ディ", type "deli" (and then press F7 to make it katakana).
For "づ", type "du".

To make small characters, you can always type an "x" before the character you want and it will make it small. For example, the keystrokes for ディ is d, e, x, i. Hiragana and katana? Hiragana is automatic, since you've already had katakana I would think you have hiragana too. To do kanji, press space bar after you entered in the appropriate hiragana characters and a list of possibilities should pop up.
