I’ve recently upgraded to renshuu pro, and unfortunately I occasionally notice errors in vocabulary bindings in sentences that I get in sentence quizzes. The dislike/downvote button (which I’m hesitant to use anyway because the consequences of doing so are unclear) offers me to correct the kana and the translation but not the vocabulary bindings. Similarly, I’ve noticed quite a few kanji compounds in the dictionary that have their entire reading lumped together as an irregular one, while in actuality it very nicely splits across the kanji. I haven’t found a way for me to suggest a correction. Have I missed something? If not, can the ability to correct vocabulary (in sentences) and kanji reading (in words) bindings be added? (In the latter case this topic probably belongs to the feature discussion forum, but I’m not sure about it.)

Hmm...I will make a note to enter into the FAQ what happens when you downvote the sentence (or maybe a mouseover). Here is what is does: 1. Hitting the down button will a)prevent the sentence from appearing again in the dictionary/sentence quizzes, and b)allow you to suggest changes to the English/Dictionary. If there is a mistake in the vocabulary binding, the easiest way to pass along that suggestion is to stick a space around the incorrect vocabulary term. That will highlight it for rebinding. Re: the kanji compounds ..if you are seeing them in the dictionary, feel free to mention them to be a)in here or b)in a private message from my profile page (your preference). If you are viewing them in a term list, you can hit the 'improve this info' link and make a suggestion - if the hiragana/kanji is correct, but the 'alignment' is off, simply make a note of it in the definition field. All suggestions are read and modified/accepted/rejected, and so you can make any notes you'd like in the report. For example, some users use the definition/English field to ask a question about a verb tense, or a use of certain English. These reports are read and processed..usually within 24 hours, if not less! Thanks for your post, and please let me know if you have any other questions or comments!

I was going to post a related bug report a while back but when posting the page just got stuck on "Validating post..." so I never did. My issue was with some grammar expressions that use kanji when they shouldn't but almost all of those have now been fixed (mainly expressions using いう、こと、もの、とき), however, the only option when binding is to choose the kanji. I think there should be a grammar expression option in hiragana only when binding vocab as otherwise this results in the user sentences to use the kanji when that's technically incorrect. Did that make sense? I don't feel like I'm being very coherent this morning :o

Hmm...interesting. For now, you can do this: put the entire grammar phrase in brackets []..it will force the site to accept it as a single term, and as long as that term doesnt exist in the dictionary, it will be displayed in the same way that you entered it (so if you enter it as hiragana, it stays hiragana).
