UPDATE: my fix broke the site entirely when in the quiz, so swiping is temporarily re-enabled until I can more thoroughly test it this evening. It will probably be simple to fix, just not until I am at my main computer.
After spending way too many angry hours, I believe I have a much more stable and sturdy version of the swiping code to mobile. Please let me know how it works for you. It should work much better in terms of stability for Android versions below 4.0, but comes at a hit to smoothness in the animation (but this is unfortunately unavoidable due to bugs in the Android browser's code).
