I don't know if something like this has ever been suggested, but I would love to see some kind of typing activity on this site. I'm thinking something along the lines of these games http://www.spitz8823.com/typing/ where you type out sentences or a body of text ... but it would be nice to have it display kanji according to our study history (similar to the sentence-based questions, except instead of just testing us on a single term, it would be a way of quickly verifying that we are reading all the words in a sentence correctly without having to mouse-over each word). Plus it would be a good practice for typing and reading faster :)
I think having it timed and ranked with high scores would be fun ... maybe as an addition to the Let's Play lineup? I don't know how difficult something like this would be to implement, or whether there would be enough interest to make it worthwhile, but I just thought I'd throw it out there ;)

One could almost make the argument that something like this is more worthwhile than actually learning to draw the kanji by hand, from a purely functional standpoint.
I know that the amount of kanji that natives write by hand per day is rapidly dwindling, as the amount of characters typed increases ever skyward.
Anyways, it's got my vote (assuming it is feasible to implement at some point in the future).
Bet it would be a nice eventual tie-in to the grammar upgrades that Michael has in his sights, too.
That's quite fun. I was thinking a similar game with bubbles of words dropping down, and we have to type the correct pronunciation before the bubbles touch the ground.
